School Council Tip Night

Please join us online for a fun night of learning all about School Council where you will be able to share successes, concerns and tips with fellow School Councils, and so much more.

We are excited to have our OCSB Associate Director of Education, Mary Donaghy, joining us for the evening to help in welcoming everyone and providing us with some key notes for school councils.

Our Keynote presenters are Richard Bolduc, OCSB Mental Health Lead and Dr. Prince Ehoro, OCSB Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, who will be speaking to community re-engagement.

We suggest councils have as many members as possible attend as we will be hosting several breakout sessions for the second half of the evening and there will only be the opportunity to attend one of the following sessions…

Parent EngagementLindsay Barr from World Changing Kids will begin the session with a conversation about the importance of community and taking care of one another. Dr. Richard Bolduc and Dr. Prince Ehoro will then continue the important conversation from their Keynote address.

*Note that Lindsey will be hosting two follow-up sessions in December and in the new year to continue the discussion and support project development within your school community.

What every school council wants to know and more?

Be sure to join former CSPA Chair, Cathy Philpott, who will be hosting this informative session on all things school council. Talk constitutions/by-laws, roles & responsibilities of school council members, fundraising and so much more.

School Council Treasurers

The OCSB Finance Department will be joining us for the evening, and will be reviewing some key best practices, financial reporting and answering all your questions.

PIC & PRO Grant Planning

You aren’t going to want to miss this session! Roxeanne Marberl, PIC Chair, will be running through tips, tricks, applications and brainstorming for PIC and PRO Grant spending. A great opportunity to plan for that community re-engagement.

Schoolyard Greening

Looking to get your greening projects off the ground? Started planning your projects and have questions? Join Yolanta Kwawiecki, OCSB Eco Schools, and Randy Leafloor, OCSB Planning & Facilities, to learn more about some of the important guidelines to your projects.
