An Inclusive Education: Including children with exceptionalities, learning disabilities and beyond...

Join us as we explore inclusive education at the OCSB. Below you will find pertinent information about each session. The evening will start at 6:45pm with a brief intro from our Superintendent of Special Education and Student Services, along with OCSB parent group members. Sessions will then start at 7pm. You can choose 2 of 4 available 1 HR workshops, each offered twice during the evening.

*** IEP's / How to Effectively Collaborate ***
Please join the Special Education Consultants for an informative session on collaborating to develop the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Students, parents, and educators all play important roles in the planning and implementation of a student’s Individual Education Plan. Establishing effective lines of communication and collaboration among parents, students, and educators, while recognizing everyone’s contributions, will lead to the best possible education for a student.

*** Interventions to Support Struggling Learners ***
The deep learning classroom is a dynamic space that accommodates and programs for all learners. Come and join us to learn how we support struggling learners to ensure that all students have access to a learning environment that supports their growth.

As members of a Catholic community and in accordance with the Ministry of Education direction, the Board actively promotes the goal of inclusive education. We will review the wide range of accommodations and programming available in the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Understanding learning disabilities, what it means to have a learning disability and how to support your child at school.
