Friendship Skills: What role do I play for my child’s development?

Understanding Executive Functions in Children and Youth
Why do we keep hearing about executive functioning? Is knowing more about these skills important for me and my child/youth? As a parent, what can I do to support my child/youth to strengthen these skills?

“ABA in a Nutshell”
During this session, we will discuss the applications of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in an educational setting.  ABA is an approach to building and teaching functional skills and reducing problem behaviour.  A brief discussion of OCSB’s ABA supports will be reviewed.

This workshop will provide an overview of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), what it is and what it is not, as well as describe the most current diagnostic criteria.  The importance of having a strong support network will be discussed as well as possible adverse outcomes that can result from a lack of support.  Strategies for use in the classroom will also be explored.

Assistive Technology @OCSB
A hands-on session exploring Read&Write for Chrome toolbar and an introduction to understanding your child’s Hapara workspace. Drop in to join this interactive learning about assistive technology tools that support your child!
