Communication Survey 2015

parent surveyTHE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.

Thanks to all who participated

PIC and CSPA conducted a survey of school families, in partnership with the Ottawa Catholic School Board.  The purpose of the survey was to find out what information families would like to receive from OCSB schools and how you wish to receive it.

Good communication between home and school allows parents/guardians & school staff to work together to help our children succeed.  With many communication tools now in use, we believe it is important to understand how families currently view communication.

The survey was available both online and in printed form (from your school); in English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.  Participation is voluntary and completely anonymous.   We plan to use the survey results to work together with school councils and our school board to put in place communications plans and strategies taking into account parent preferences.

The survey was available in 5 languages:

ENGLISH        FRENCH           ARABIC          SPANISH        SIMPLIFIED CHINESE

Workplace Safety Week | April 27 - May 1

Screen shot 2013-04-14 at 4.52.37 PMEvery day in Ontario, nearly 50 young workers under age 25 are injured or killed on the job. For this reason, OCSB has designated April 27-May 2, 2015 to be Workplaces Safety Week in our Board.

The purpose of this week is to raise awareness among students, staff and parents of the importance of staying safe while working or volunteering.  As parents, we can do a lot to help our children stay safe at work.  Let's have these important conversations with our children before they start work!

Young workers are much more likely to be injured on the job and often they don't recognize hazards and hesitate to ask questions. Safety at work is everyone's job.
